Search and saved stories
Site search runs in your browser against the publication’s article index. Your search text is not sent to a search service by this site. The reading list uses local storage on your device under the key ufo-aliens-reading-list-v1. It records story identifiers, not a user profile.
Saved items stay in that browser and do not synchronize across devices. Tabs in the same browser update when your reading list changes. You can remove individual stories directly from the reading-list page or with their Save button or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Private browsing or storage restrictions may prevent saving.
Embedded video
Video players are not loaded until you select “Load video.” Loading a player connects your browser to YouTube or DVIDS. The provider receives network information such as your IP address and may use cookies or local storage under its own policies. YouTube embeds use its privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain, but loading a player still contacts YouTube.
You may use the direct original-source link instead. Your activity on that external site is governed by the provider’s policies. See Google’s privacy policy and DVIDS privacy information.
Hosting and external links
The hosting platform and infrastructure providers may process routine request logs and network metadata to deliver and protect the site. Their authentication or access controls may apply depending on the publication’s current audience settings. We do not claim to control those platform processes.
External source links navigate to third-party sites. This edition includes no added analytics trackers, advertising network scripts, email collection, payment system or newsletter form. RSS requests are normal page requests to the hosting service.
